What We Treat
Substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and the space where they overlap. You can enter our program under either a primary substance use or a primary mental health diagnosis.
Addiction treatment that addresses the reasons behind the use.
We treat substance use disorders of every kind, from alcohol to opioids to stimulants, with evidence-based therapy, psychiatric support and medication-assisted treatment coordination when appropriate. Just as importantly, we treat the anxiety, depression, trauma or other conditions that so often drive substance use in the first place.
Alcohol Use Disorder
From daily drinking to binge patterns, with medication support such as naltrexone available through our prescribers.
Opioids & Fentanyl
Prescription painkillers, heroin and fentanyl, with buprenorphine coordination and intensive relapse-prevention support.
Benzodiazepines
Careful psychiatric coordination for those dependent on Xanax, Klonopin, Valium and similar medications.
Cocaine & Stimulants
Cocaine, methamphetamine and misused prescription stimulants such as Adderall.
Cannabis
Support for adults whose cannabis use has become compulsive or is worsening anxiety, motivation or mood.
Polysubstance Use
Integrated treatment when more than one substance is involved, which is more common than not.
Primary mental health treatment, with or without substance use.
You do not need a substance use problem to be treated at Pacific Horizon. Our mental health track serves adults whose depression, anxiety, trauma or mood disorder needs more support than weekly therapy alone can provide.
Depression
Major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, and depression that has not responded to outpatient therapy alone.
Anxiety & Panic
Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety and health anxiety that interfere with work, relationships and daily life.
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma-informed care, including EMDR by trained clinicians, for single-incident and complex trauma.
Bipolar Disorder
Mood stabilization with close psychiatric oversight, psychoeducation and skills for recognizing early warning signs.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Evidence-based treatment for intrusive thoughts and compulsions, integrated with medication management when helpful.
Emotional Dysregulation
DBT-informed skills for intense emotions, impulsivity and relationship instability, including traits associated with borderline personality disorder.
Grief, Burnout & Life Transitions
Support when loss, chronic stress or a major life change has become more than you can carry alone.
ADHD with Co-Occurring Conditions
Care for adults whose ADHD intersects with substance use, anxiety or depression.
Suicidal Ideation (non-acute)
Structured safety planning and intensive support for adults experiencing thoughts of suicide who are safe for outpatient care.
Dual diagnosis is our core clinical model, not a feature.
The majority of adults who seek treatment for substance use also live with a mental health condition, and vice versa. Treating one while ignoring the other is one of the most common reasons treatment fails.
At Pacific Horizon, integrated dual-diagnosis care means one clinical team, one treatment plan and one set of goals. Your therapist, psychiatric provider and case manager meet weekly to review your progress across both conditions. Group curriculum addresses the ways mood, anxiety and trauma feed substance use, and the ways substance use worsens them.
- Depression or anxiety with alcohol or drug use
- PTSD or complex trauma with substance use
- Bipolar disorder with substance use
- ADHD with stimulant or cannabis misuse
- Any combination of the conditions above
What we don't treat
As an outpatient program, we do not provide medical detoxification, residential care or crisis stabilization for acute psychiatric emergencies. If you need one of these services, we will help you find it and welcome you into our program when you are ready to step down.
In crisis? Call 911 or call/text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
Not sure what you're dealing with?
You do not need a diagnosis to call. A licensed clinician will complete a confidential assessment and help you understand what is going on and what would help.
Request an AssessmentYou don't have to figure this out alone.
Our admissions help line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. One confidential call is all it takes to learn your options, verify your benefits, and schedule a clinical assessment, often within 24 hours.
